LGB eSports have announced they will not be making the trip to Bucharest next weekend. Additionally, the team confirmed that Olof "olofm" Kajbjer has joined on a permanent basis. HLTV.org was informed that LGB eSports, a squad which represented Greek organization Refuse until recently, won't have financial support needed to attend the event in Romania that is set to take place on September 14-15th.
LGB turned some heads last week in the MSI Beat it! European qualifier when they managed to beat Copenhagen Wolves and Astana Dragons, as well as put up a great fight against NiP and ESC. In the end they even moved on to the playoffs ahead of Astana Dragons and ESC thanks to round difference, which leaves them in the running for a spot at the finals in Shanghai, China. We talked to the team's captain Mikail "eksem" Bill about the situation surrounding their departure from Refuse and the Bucharest trip:
However, eventually the team was unable to find needed support to attend the upcoming $15,000 event in Bucharest, Romania. He also added that they officially confirm that Olof "olofm" Kajbjer has joined the team in place of Marcus "windster" Andersson. Kajbjer has been the team's best player in MSI Beat it! European Finals so far, recording 0.84 kills per round and a 1.24 rating.
LGB eSports have the following roster:
The Swedish team was supposed to play against Astana Dragons, Natus Vincere and local side myRevenge in Group D of DreamHack Bucharest, but now the organizers will be forced to find a replacement. |
